State of Origin stars Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans will turn out for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles for the game against Canterbury Bulldogs at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday.
Though it was feared Trbojevic was struggling with a leg injury in the latter stages of State of Origin Game II on Sunday night, Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler has named his superstar in the No.1 jersey for the round 16 game against bottom-of-the-ladder Bulldogs.
The fortunes of both players could not be in starker contrast with Trbojevic playing a starring role and Maroons captain Cherry-Evans left in tears after the Blues dominated Queensland in the 26-0 win.
Elsewhere Manly welcomes Jack Gosiewski, Cade Cust and Moses Suli into the squad of 21 though Hasler has named an unchanged XVII following the 56-24 win over Gold Coast Titans in Round 15.
Jake Trbojevic (hip) and Josh Schuster (calf) were both scheduled to return for Round 16 yet it appears Hasler is keeping them in cotton wool, possibly ahead of the short turnaround game against Canberra Raiders on Thursday July 8.
The crowd size and venue of the Raiders game, scheduled for 4 Pines Park (Brookvale Oval), will be announced by the Sea Eagles on Monday.
Saturday’s game will kick-off at 3pm in front of an empty Bankwest Stadium due to Covid restrictions.
